Slow-cooked, whole rack of pork ribs slathered in rich BBQ sauce. The meat is incredibly tender, falls off the bone, and features a glossy, caramelized crust.
Remove the tough silver skin membrane from the back of the ribs. Mix the dry rub ingredients and massage generously over both sides of the ribs. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Preheat the oven to 135°C (275°F). Place the ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet, pour apple juice or beer into the bottom, and cover tightly with foil. Bake for 2 - 2.5 hours until tender.
Remove from the oven and carefully peel off the top foil. Brush a thick layer of your favorite BBQ sauce on both sides of the ribs.
Turn the oven up to 200°C (400°F). Return the uncovered ribs to the oven for 10-15 minutes until the BBQ sauce becomes sticky, glossy, and slightly charred at the edges. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
Q: Can I use an air fryer?
A: Yes. Cut the rack to fit, wrap in foil, and air fry at 150°C for 60 minutes. Then brush with sauce and air fry uncovered for 10 minutes at 200°C.
